History/Lore:
Ylang-ylang is often referred to as "poor man's jasmine". In Indonesia it is customary to strew Ylang-ylang flower petals on the bed of newlywed couples.

In the Philippines, the Ylang Ylang flowers are strung together with the flowers of the sampaguita,to create necklaces (lei) which are worn by women and are used to adorn religious images.

Note:
Ylang-Ylang Essential Oil distillation produces different grades of essential oil (Ylang Ylang Extra, I, II, and III). Ylang Ylang Extra is the highest quality is considered the superior choice by aromatherapists.

Ylang-Ylang Extra Essential Oil can cause sensitivity in some people and excess use may lead to headaches and nausea.
